Source Youthwork is now delivering some of its usual activities in person and others online. Please visit the Source Youthwork website.
After-school cafés and hosting individual counselling sessions have now restarted in the Undercroft. Thursday Alt Ed has also been running again since April. There are plans for renewing work onsite at Wilmslow High School from September. The pandemic made it very hard to stay in touch with young people, but the good news is that the youth project has adapted and emerged stronger from the challenges it has overcome.
Plans for a parenting course have now been put on hold until the Autumn. At the end of June, Gemma Tuson left the project to pursue a new role working with young people nearer where she lives. Wilmslow Youth said fond goodbyes to her for all she has done over the last five years. Plans for reshaping the work and re-forming the staff team are well underway.
Source Youthwork became a charity in April 2019. It was set up by Wilmslow URC and Life Church Wilmslow to promote our concern for young people in this area, which began under the title Wilmslow Youth. We believe our Christian faith calls on us to try and meet young people’s needs, improve their quality of life and help them to build community.
